Spring in Rotterdam is packed with surprises! From dining among beautiful flowers to discovering local festivals, there’s something for everyone this month.
Whether you’re in the mood for a cosy Easter brunch, a culinary adventure, or ready to dance at a festival, Rotterdam has it all. We’ve put together a list of things you absolutely can’t miss!
Cinema Culinair
Some films are not just meant to be watched, but experienced through taste. At Cinema Culinair, you watch films such as Chef, Grease, The Menu, Ratatouille, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Burnt, while eating the exact same dishes as shown on screen. Timed down to the second, so you eat precisely what you see. It does not get more immersive than this. During the marathon weekend, De Marathon is also on the programme, with a special screening on 11 April as a tribute to the Rotterdam Marathon.
Cinema Culinair takes place several times a year in Rotterdam. The next edition will be held during the weekends from 10 to 19 April at the Keilepand. You can choose between extensive evening dinners or a daytime brunch, with each course perfectly aligned with the film.

MOMO festival
For three days, the Motel Mozaïque (MOMO) Festival fills the city with live music, art, performances and guided tours across various locations in Rotterdam’s city centre. MOMO Festival is known for its adventurous programming, bringing together emerging talent and established names from both the Netherlands and abroad. Alongside concerts, there are performances, art installations and artistic residencies to explore. And when evening falls, the festival continues with MOMO Nights, featuring club nights and live shows. In short, there is plenty to experience.
The line-up for MOMO Festival 2026 includes names such as Weval, Zimmer90 and Obongjayar, alongside artists like Wesley Joseph and Man/Woman/Chainsaw. The Orchestra (For Now), BINA. and stay away from dante! are also part of the programme, together with a wide selection of international acts across various genres.
Tickets are required for the performances and art installations, so make sure to secure yours and do not miss out.

NN Marathon Rotterdam

We’ll stay with the Marathon theme for a little while longer, because as mentioned before, it takes place in April! Whether you’re running the full marathon, the 5K, or cheering on the runners, this day is full of energy, music, and enthusiastic spectators.
It’s the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself or simply experience the city’s vibrant sporting atmosphere. Rotterdam celebrates in full force, making this one of the most lively moments of the year!

De Maaltuin
De Maaltuin returns to Rotterdam. At De Maaltuin, you experience a unique culinary journey in the beautiful Trompenburg Gardens. From 10 April onwards, you can enjoy a five-course dinner in an enchanting garden setting, inspired by nature and the theme of spring. This season focuses on fresh spring flavours, with local ingredients such as asparagus and young shoots.
Expect an evening filled with wonder, refined dishes and surprising stories, all while dining among blooming flowers. It is an experience not to be missed.

Trek Festival
Festival TREK returns to Rotterdam. During this travelling food festival, the Vroesenpark transforms into a large open-air restaurant where you can enjoy a wide range of street food and food trucks. From sushi and Surinamese dishes to vegetarian options and burgers, there is plenty to taste.
Alongside food and drinks, there is much more to experience. Expect live music, theatre and performances by emerging creators, complemented by a travelling theatre caravan and nostalgic fairground attractions. As evening falls, the park takes on a festival atmosphere where you can dance to funk, soul and dance classics.
