Below you can read about the best events in Rotterdam this autumn, for which you should quickly get yourself a ticket!

1. Japan Light & Food Festival

On December 11 and 12, the time has finally come. Ahoy Rotterdam will be transformed into a true Japanese paradise. This means countless sushi stalls and the most beautiful lighting.

Expect LED artworks, cozy stalls serving fresh sushi and ramen, real Japanese tea and sake and lots of fun.

Choose a time slot you prefer and buy a ticket via the website.

2. Boothstock festival

After being moved twice, it now looks like the Boothstock Festival is really going to take place after all. This time only not in the summer, but on November 6. Get your dance moves ready, because this year Joris Voorn, Monika Kruse, Chris Stussy & Prunk, Michel de Hey and Benny Rodrigues will be playing.

One of the biggest events of the year is the Rotterdam marathon. Countless sports enthusiasts who train for months to reach the finish of the Coolsingel are finally allowed to start. The 40th edition of the marathon will take place this autumn on Sunday 24 October.

Not a runner? No problem. Because the atmosphere is always good during the marathon. So bring your enthusiasm and cheer on the Rotterdam warriors along the line!

4. De Grote Schijn

Good news: the Grote Schijn (‘Great Shine’) in Rotterdam is back! This means a beautiful light show in the Kralingse Bos from 14 to 31 October, with magical creations and a mind blowing journey through the dark.

You can see and hear all kinds of impressive trees, light projections and sounds around you. A trip for young and old, enjoyed in the outdoors. The Kralingse Bos has never looked so beautiful!

5. Opening skating rink

Wij kunnen niks bedenken wat meer past bij een winter must-do lijst dan een bezoekje aan een schaatsbaan! Chocolademelk, Glühwein, een Unox broodje en ingepakt in een dikke jas. Dat is het échte wintergevoel!

The Rotterdam tunnel will open again! And that’s something to celebrate, because this winter we can put on our skates again and enjoy the 400 meter track in Kralingen.

The skating rink will open from November 27th, so be prepared to show your skating skills again. And of course we hope for another good silent disco party!

6. Frank Borrel

The famous Rotterdam Friday afternoon drink will start again. As usual, on Friday 26 November you will dance with your friends and/or colleagues to fine tunes in the Cruise Terminal.

A great way to start your weekend with a drink in your hand, a nice atmosphere and happy people around you. You can buy a ticket via the website of the Frank Borrel.

7. Gin & Rum Festival

The Gin & Rum Festival is just around the corner. This year of course again in the Cruise Terminal; the perfect location with the best view of the city. It will take place Saturday 20th November and it will be even better and bigger than before, with hundreds of different gin & rum labels. Expect a lot of tastings, workshops where you learn how to make your favourite cocktail, a silent disco and of course various food stalls.

Buy your ticket for the Gin & Rum festival quickly. Entrance tickets include a cocktail glass for unlimited gin and rum tasting. The workshops can be entered with a small fee.
