Last month, the new hotspot CRAVE opened in a side street of the MAHO Kwartier Rotterdam. At this vegan bakery you can enjoy homemade vegan pastries, cakes and croissants and a good cup of coffee made by local roasters.

Vegan can be just as tasty
CRAVE’s mission is to show that you really don’t have to miss anything if you eat plant-based. A more sustainable choice with just as much flavour is definitely possible.
The team behind CRAVE has been testing all the pastries for months. The creamy pies, croissants and cinnamon rolls are even tastier with the right ingredients if you know that they are baked without animal products. Enjoy, but in a conscious way.
Owner Yunlai Ye, known for The Tea Lab and BACKYARD, wants to make the Rotterdam food and drinks landscape more sustainable, step by step: “I believe in a future in which it will become even easier and more normal to opt for plant-based. A sustainable world in which my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter can also still have a good life.”
These Rotterdam locations also offer vegan pastries!
Assortment full of vegan goodies
CRAVE’s assortment includes delicious almond croissants, dark chocolate babkas, cardamom rolls and red velvet cake.
Slowly more and more is added to the menu. At CRAVE they listen carefully to the feedback from the guests. For example, cruffins and cookies are already being added!
Oat milk is the standard
In addition to all the delicious pastries, you can drink a nice cup of coffee from local roasters Giraffe Coffee and A Matter of Concrete. Order a nice cup of slow coffee or cappuccino. The default here is oat milk, but other types of milk are also available.
Prefer something else to drink? Then order a lemonade or, for example, an iced matcha latte.
