1. Biergarten
Biergarten doesn’t need an introduction. It has become a true household name in the city and the place to be to enjoy a beer in the sun on a Friday or Saturday night. In addition to the range in beer, you can order a burger, fries, or other snacks such as nachos or a Biergarten ‘kapsalon’ here.
Check their agenda for all the fun events they are planning and get ready for a sunny Friday afternoon drink or a perfect start of your night out (as soon as it’s possible again)!

2. Dak bij Station Bergweg

Have you already discovered the newest foodhall in Rotterdam? Since the beginning of this year, you can get your food heart racing at various food and drink stands at Station Bergweg in Rotterdam North. But not only in the old station, but also on top of the roof!
A roof terrace has now been built on the old train tracks, where you can enjoy a freshly tapped beer or another refreshing drink, while overlooking the city. This roof terrace is also the start of the Hofbogenpark, where a 2-kilometre-long promenade will be built over the old railway line.

3. Bar Schiemond
On the corner of the Schiehaven and the Nieuwe Maas, you can now settle down at the bar or on the terrace of Bar Schiemond. Where dock workers used to meet before taking the boat to work, you can now go there again for an equally informal, no-nonsense atmosphere.
Bar Schiemond is a place with a heart, filled with nice people, good music and where you can enjoy affordable food and a drink until late at night.

4. CECE Bar Urbana

Need to cool down on a hot day, but don’t fancy a traffic jam to the beach? Escape the city bustle and moor up in a safe OASE on the Maas. 6. On Other Drugs

Have you heard of On Other Drugs? This new concept is from the minds of entrepreneurs Michelle van Woensel and Dave Grosjean. The idea of On Other Drugs was born from the coming together of two dreams, years of hard work, experience and a good dose of guts.
At On Other Drugs in Tim’s Limonadefabriek, you will soon be able to enjoy a restaurant, sports, wellness and flex-working, among other things. The event location, daylight studio and waterside terrace are already open to the public. This terrace is a lovely spot on the Rotte, built in Bali style, where you can enjoy good coffee, corona beers on tap, slush and Lebanese dishes in the sun.
Also ideal: if you take a boat out on the Rotte in summer, you can moor at the terrace for something delicious to go!

Looking for something a bit different? Then we recommend a visit to Vessel11! The restaurant is actually a red lightship docked in the city centre of Rotterdam.
On their deck they have a great terrace, where you can sit on a sunny day in Rotterdam whilst enjoying a drink and delicious food. But they also have tables on shore next to the boat where you can take a seat and enjoy the sun.
Their menu offers typical British pub food, with a seasonal and modern twist. In addition, V11 often organizes live music events, with fun (upcoming) bands and musicians.

9. Parkcafé Parqiet
Do you want to get away from the hustle and bustle in the city? Then Parqiet in the Park is the ideal hotspot. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and drinks. Parqiet is located in the former carriage house and together with Dudok in the Park, is one of the few spots in the Park to enjoy a drink and food.

At Juni, on Oostzeedijk in Kralingen, it’s all about natural and conventional wines, surprising Dutch cheeses and a laid-back atmosphere.
The wine bar was founded by two former hospitality colleagues and funded entirely through crowdfunding. There’s no need to book: simply drop in for a spontaneous evening of cheese boards, seasonal bites and great wine.
Be sure to grab a spot on the spacious terrace, where you can enjoy the wines and relaxed atmosphere until late in the evening. It almost feels like being on holiday!

13. Harvest Café & Bakery
Delicious coffee, super tasty food and great service! This is exactly what you can expect at Harvest Coffee Brewers. This cozy hotspot is located in the Glashaven; a super nice location. They don’t have a large terrace, so it is difficult to get a spot, but this makes their small terrace with a view of the small harbor very unique.
The owners of Harvest Coffee Brewers have worked in the hospitality scene in Melbourne, Australia and this is reflected in the menu and the whole atmosphere of this hotspot.
It’s a fun place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch, with delicious dishes such as the classic Eggs Benedict.

14. Phil and Friends
Phil and Friends in Blijdorp definitely deserves a spot on this list! This popular breakfast spot is located on Stadhoudersweg, and inside you’ll also find a second-hand shop.
The menu features plenty of delicious breakfast dishes, including breakfast bowls, a variety of sandwiches and wraps. A favourite is the classic (with their own twist) Avo Smash with avocado, chilli flakes, lemon and pomegranate seeds.

30ml Coffee Roasters is the perfect all day breakfast place in Rotterdam. In addition to breakfast classics such as eggs Benedict, croissants or American pancakes, they also have tasty lunch dishes here. A must is the Tiny Toast with avocado spread. Or opt for the grilled cheese sandwich.

18. Teds All Day Brunch
Did you know that there is a city garden on top of the roof of the building next to Annabel and Biergarten? It is the first green rooftop in the Netherlands to grow fruit and vegetables.
Here you’ll find Teds All Day Brunch, the perfect spot for hungover Sunday brunch dates. But not only can you visit them on Sundays: Teds is open every day from morning to afternoon. And whether you order a fresh mint tea or Espresso Martini, it doesn’t matter. At Teds, you can get what you want, whenever you want!

Restaurant Matelief is located in the Oude Haven. With a sunny south-facing terrace, Matelief is a great place to be. 20. Garden of Bird
Sitting in nice lounge chairs, with some tropical tunes playing in the background, a drink in your hands and of course a Bird pizza in front of you, the Garden of Bird is a great place to spend a warm afternoon.
You will find the Garden of Bird right in front of Bird, located between the Luchtsingel and the Hofbogen. Also make sure to check Bird’s agenda to stay up to date of fun parties in their Garden, such as the silent disco!

21. Dudok in het Park
Dudok in the Park is located in the middle of the Park. It’s located in the beautiful monumental building the Heerenhuys. This beautiful building comes with a great outdoor seating area!
It’s the ideal location to enjoy a sunny day in Rotterdam. Here you can order a nice cup of coffee, tea or a refreshing drink with something sweet (Dudok-apple pie, maybe?) or savory from the menu.
On sunny days, and once it’s possible again, Dudok in the Park extends the opening hours, so you can also have dinner outside.

22. Café de Wilde Mossel
Eurobrouwers have opened a new bar! You may remember them from Station Bergweg, but they’ve now moved into a proper café on Middellandplein: Café de Wilde Mossel. It’s a cosy spot with a wide selection of beers.
Alongside your beer, you can order something tasty to eat too, whether you’re after a snack, lunch or an evening meal. There’s also a lovely spacious terrace where you can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.

23. Bokaal
If you’re looking for a nice place in the Maho Kwartier, Bokaal is the way to go. It has one of the larger terraces in Rotterdam, so it increases the chance of actually finding a spot.
Together with friends or colleagues you can go here for beer, wine and good food. The terrace always has a great atmosphere and is right in the middle of the centre of Rotterdam.

The terrace of Hotel New York is a good choice during a sunny day in our city. It has a perfect location at the head of the Wilhelminapier overlooking the beautiful skyline of Rotterdam!

Do you want a nice refreshing drink and an organic frikandel? Go to Tante Nel of course! This hotspot is highly recommended, not only for the nice terrace, but also for the delicious French fries and gin tonics!
Tante Nel is a unique concept: a snackbar with snacks that have been transformed into luxury dishes. For example: a meat ball with truffle mayonnaise, fries Tzar Caviar or a crawfish croquette.

27. Belgisch Biercafé Boudewijn
On the Nieuwe Binnenweg you will find the Belgian Beer Café Boudewijn. Crazy about (special) beer? Then you should definitely choose this café. They have 24 types on tap and more than 200 beers in the bottle.
Of course you can also order something to eat, such as shrimp croquettes, mussels and beef stew. These are all typical Belgian dishes!
Behind the café of Boudewijn is also a nice garden where you can go for a lunch, dinner or refreshing beer.

The name actually says enough, but Prachtig (meaning beautiful) has a beautiful terrace directly on the banks of the Maas, right under the Erasmus Bridge. The terrace of Prachtig has 250 spots and is distributed over a lounge terrace, a drink terrace and a dinner terrace.
From here you have a view of the Willems Bridge, the Erasmus Bridge and Kop van Zuid. With it’s ideal location and iconic view, Prachtig is a great place to lounge, lunch or have dinner.

31. Keilecafe
At Keilecafe, it’s all about enjoying the outdoors. In their own words, Keilecafe is a permanent festival — and that’s exactly what it feels like. Almost as if you’ve landed on your own little party island, completely cut off from the outside world. It’s the kind of place where you start with a couple of drinks and somehow end up right at the front by the DJ booth.
The surrounding Keilewerf area is well worth exploring too, especially if you want to experience Rotterdam’s raw, industrial edge. Just bear in mind that Keilecafe is only open during the summer months, so make sure you don’t miss it.

32. Bazar
De Witte de Withstraat is always a good idea! Here you will find plenty of hotspots with great outdoor seating, such as Ballroom, NRC Café, Supermercado, Witte Aap, Café De Zondebok & ‘t Zwarte Schaap, just to name a few! Bazar is also in this fine location in Rotterdam and we can’t imagine the street without it.
The terrace of Bazar is very spacious, so it’s a great option if you can’t find spot elsewhere. The tables and plates are very colorful, making every visit a bit like a little party. The menu – inspired on the Middle East and North Africa – is very extensive and you can go here for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just for a drink.

33. Fenix Food Factory
Fenix Food Factory is located in a harbor warehouse (Fenixloods 1) on Katendrecht; a unique part of Rotterdam. You can go here for fresh, local products.
Get a cocktail at the Soda Pop Shop, a (special) beer at the Kaapse Brouwers, a sandwich from Jordy or whatever you prefer and enjoy it on the terrace! It is an lovely location and always a good option if you fancy a day at the terrace.

34. De Gele Kanarie
Named after the beer that they brew in the basement themselves, the Gele Kanarie is a great place for a drink and bite with your friends.
With great weather, the terrace is packed on Friday’s and Saturday’s, as it’s the go to after work hang out for many people!

35. Mecca
Mecca is such a very nice place in Rotterdam Noord. During sunny days you can enjoy the terrace, surrounded by cosy plants.
For example, order a delicious sesame iced latte, delicious when it is warm out. Mecca also serves special breakfast dishes inspired by the Middle East. For example, the changing menu currently includes a delicious dish with labneh (savoury yogurt dip) with egg. Highly recommended and a personal favourite!

36. Westerpaviljoen
The Westerpaviljoen is a lovely old school café with a living room vibe. But you can also sit outside with a pint in your hands.
The best part is that they have a windshield here on the side, which makes the autumn sun feel like 25 degrees. Also a tip to do some work inside at the reading table and then take a break on the terrace.

37. Soif
At Soif, a lovely and affordable restaurant in Delfshaven, you can sit right at the waterside. In the summer you can relax here on the spacious terrace!
It is an eatery where they serve delicious soups, salads, cheese fondue, risotto and much more. They also have delicious desserts such as the cheesecake, apple pie and nut cake from Koekela.

38. Le Souq
You’ll find this restaurant, with its beautiful blue details on the façade, in Historic Delfshaven. It’s a lovely spot to sit by the water and quite possibly one of our favourite places!
The food is just as appealing, with a menu full of delicious Lebanese dishes. Order a selection of mezze to share, or simply choose a dish for yourself.
We’d definitely recommend going for a selection of mezze. These small dishes, similar to starters, are perfect for sharing. Mezze menus are available for two people or more.

39. De Tuin
Many people from Rotterdam go to the Kralingse Plas during the warmer days in our country. So it’s nice to know that you can sit somewhere outside and order a drink and some food. De Tuin (meaning The Garden) has a perfect location for a terrace, located on the edge of the Kralingse Bos and directly on the beautiful Kralingse Plas.
From this terrace you also have an amazing view of the Rotterdam skyline.
You can order a lot of tasty food at De Tuin and you can go here for lunch, brunch, dinner, high tea, barbecue and drinks.

This year, the pop-up restaurant De Maaltuin returns in a unique way to Trompenburg Tuinen en Arboretum in Rotterdam. De Harmonie Restaurant 23 is a very special restaurant where you can choose from the seasonal a la carte dishes or opt for the four, five or 23 (!) course menu. For chef Marco Somer, nature is a constant source of inspiration and you can really taste that in his culinary dishes.

42. Café Clementine
Do you already know Café Clementine? You can visit this restaurant in Barendrecht. So outside Rotterdam. But believe me, it’s worth the detour!
In the glass greenhouse of Café Clementine you can enjoy an all-day menu with beautifully prepared dishes to share. You can already see how green it is above! And of course you can sit on their terrace when the weather is good.
So come by for a delicious lunch, dinner and drink. The dishes are made with local, sustainable products. Many even come from their own garden, such as the edible flowers and herbs.

43. Côte du Cool
A few years ago, entrepreneurs Rick van Laar and Joyce Cornelissen started importing wines from small wineries, with a preference for organic wines. In the past year they reached a new milestone with the opening of Côte du Cool, an lovely wine bar and wine shop, located in Little C.
Côte du Cool is a big nod to France on the coast of Coolhaven in Rotterdam. Come here to enjoy a refined glass of wine, accompanied by a well-stocked snack platter. Do not expect a three-course menu, but bread from a real French baker, small snacks and a new cheese board every week to match the wines of the week.
You can buy all the wines you taste here in the wine shop afterwards! They import about 90% of the wines themselves, so they really know the winemakers and know that they work with respect for nature.
Tip: they often organize tastings with special themes, a nice experience with a group of friends!

44. Bar Stroom

One of the city’s most beloved terraces is back! Bar Stroom opens the doors of its sun-drenched terrace on the river Maas in the former Tropicana swimming pool. In the old wildwater area, you can enjoy local beers, waste-free mocktails and an affordable menu of plant-based dishes.
Bar Stroom uses local vegetables and delicious produce from BlueCity food pioneers for its menu. With views of the bridges, the city skyline and the River Meuse, you’re guaranteed a good seat on the terrace here!
Note: Bar Stroom will go into hibernation from 20 October and will return during the summer months!

45. De Maaskantine

A nice terrace on the water with a beach? Then you have to be at De Maaskantine! Here you can enjoy tasty BBQ dishes and refreshing drinks.
At this unique Rotterdam hotspot you have a beautiful view over the Rotterdam Maas and skyline, while enjoying BBQ dishes inspired by the American East Coast. Here you lie on colourful beach beds on the beach, relax with your feet in the sand and have a refreshing cocktail in your hand.
The atmosphere of the Maaskantine is partly due to artist Jelmer Konjo, who gave the outdoor restaurant a cheerful summer look with a bright colour combination.
This year they have a new kitchen team, led by chef Mike Everling (By Jarmusch) and Rohini Atwaroe (former sous chef Ter Marsch & Co) who provide dishes such as spicy loaded fries, fried fish with jalapeno mayo or a smashed (vegetarian) burger.
