What’s new in Rotterdam? For our New in Town series we’re always looking for new hotspots in Rotterdam. Of course we also keep an eye out for awesome hotspots that are opening soon.
In this second edition of New in Town you can find 12 new hotspots in Rotterdam where you can eat, party or shop!
Check out our latest New in Town article for 14 new hotspots in Rotterdam.
1. NOMO Rotterdam (CLOSED)
NOMO, derived from Northern Moods, officially opened on October 20 next to the Kookpunt in Rotterdam North. We were there to have a look and to taste their food! At NOMO they have food for the soul: healthy comfort food inspired by American-Mediterranean cuisine. For instance, you have to try their chicken & waffles.
Next to their great food, we also really like the relaxed vibe at NOMO. The restaurant is big and light, with a lot of light blue tones. They thought about everything, as you can even charge your phone with the chargers under the table.
Address
Noordplein 57, 3035 ED Rotterdam
2. Restaurant Ají
The topchef Mario Ridder, who already has three other successful restaurants in Rotterdam, started a new concept with Pelle Swinkels on the Pannekoekstraat.
At Ají they combine the South-American with Asian cuisine. Ají means chilli pepper in South-American, an ingredient that is often used by them. We can’t wait to try it!
Address
Pannekoekstraat 40A, 3011 LH Rotterdam
3. Obba Day & Night
There’s a big chance you’ve already heard of Obba, because there is already one in the Markthal and one at Rijnhaven! Soon Obba Day & Night will open at the Witte de Withstraat.
At this new location it’ll be possible to get food in the middle of the night during the weekends. During the day you can get lunch or dinner!

Witte de Withstraat 79A, 3012 BN Rotterdam
4. Mazi Breakfast & Lunch (CLOSED)
Last month Mazi opened her doors on the Goudsesingel in Rotterdam. At Mazi you can eat traditional Turkish breakfast and lunch. For instance delicious toasties, sandwiches with feta, sun-dried tomatoes or with olive tapenade, but also tasty salades.
Furthermore, they serve sweet delicacies such as baklava with ice cream. We went to try it this week and it was so good!

5. Just
At Just they have a menu, but a simple one with fish, meat and vegetarian. Because they want to surprise you every day with different meals every day. Sounds good, right?

6. Le Grand Restaurant & Club
Le Grand Restaurant & Club opened on October 19 at the Kruiskade in Rotterdam. The new hotspot is located in the Grand Hotel Central that will be 100 years old this year. The former breakfast hall of the hotel is made into a fancy restaurant and club.
Le Grand Restaurant & Club is inspired by similar club restaurants in New York and you can find elements here from the 20s.

7. Langoest
Last week Langoest opened its doors. Every day you can get fresh fish, such as seasonal fish, fruit de mer, lobster, oysters and octopus. Just about anything from the sea!
They also serve meat, such as the Black Angus Entrecôte and the Black Angus Rib Eye. And doesn’t the interior look amazing?

8. Popshop
We need to wait a little while longer, but at the end of November Popshop will open at the Grotekerkplein. Owners Dirk Schmidt and Wiebe Kuipers have big plans for this location.
POPSHOP is a pop stage and nightclub in one with two big halls, luxurious bathrooms and enough seating possibilities for its visitors.

9. Rumours Conceptstore
Rumours Conceptstore officially opened its doors in Kralingen last month. It’s a mini-department store where you can find fashion, design and art, but it’s also possible to sit down for lunch and coffee. We can’t wait to have a look!

10. De Kok en de Tuinman
You can already pay a visit to De Kok and the Tuinman (translation is the Chef and the Gardener), because they are currently testrunning. The last weekend of November they will temporarily close for renovation, but after that they are open each weekend from 09.00 – 17.00.

11. Marché 010 (CLOSED)
Yes, we’ve got another Markthal in Rotterdam: Marché 010 in the hip ZoHo. But besides that it’s also indoor, there aren’t actually a lot of similarities.
Marché 010 is located in a former metal workplace. They really want to be there for the people from the neighbourhood and they take you to the marketplace from the old days.

12. FG Okonomiyaki Bar (GESLOTEN)
Chef Francois Geurds opens a new restaurant this week: FG Okonomiyaki Bar. It’s the only Japanese pancake- and streetfood bar in the Netherlands. The Okonomiyaki pancake isn’t based on milk, but seaweed broth.
