Almost every week a new hotspot opens up in Rotterdam! We always try to keep you up to date about the best new places in our city.
This time in New in Town we share 6 new restaurants to dine. It’s a nice and diverse selection of hotspots: from French to Jewish-Persian cuisine. Perfect to visit with your love, or simply because you do not feel like cooking at home… Enjoy!
1. Louise Petit Restaurant
Louise Petit Restaurant is located in a beautiful part of our city: Veerhaven. Here they serve classic French cuisine, with starters such as tartare de salmon (salmon tartare with avocado, horseradish and Granny Smith) and escargots (snails with garlic butter). As a main course you can go for the homemade ratatouille or the Cabillaut avec beurre blanc (cod fish with green asparagus, mashed potatoes and white butter sauce). There are also delicious desserts, side dishes, and a wine list full of choices.

2. The Commons Restaurant
The Commons Restaurant is a nice and affordable restaurant in Rotterdam. On the worldly menu with shared dining dishes there is something for everyone: from snacks, burgers and pizzas to fresh juices and superfood salads. This new hotspot, which is located in the Student Hotel at the Willem Ruyslaan, is a meeting place where travelers, foodies and locals can visit any time of the day.

3. Mookata Asian Fondue BBQ & Grill
Mookata is a combination of Korean BBQ and Chinese hot pot on a barbecue steamboat. The word literally means ‘pork skillet’. On the skillet you can grill meat, and on the side you can cook vegetables in a soup base of your choice. A unique experience that is definitely worth a try!

4. Liz Osteria
Liz Osteria recently opened its doors in the Liskwartier in Rotterdam. This is the second hotspot by Rose and Aryan Tieleman, their first being Brasserie Nieuw Noord. The name of this new hotspot is inspired by the historic Liskwartier and British-American beauty icon Liz Taylor.
Every week and a half the menu changes and guests can choose from 8 different dishes. There is also a bites and drinks menu with antipasti, pizza, Italian wines, beer from Brouwerij Noordt and Birra Moretti on tap.

5. Osteria Vera
After five successful years of Bistrot du Bac, Remco and Magdalena van de Lagemaat opened up another restaurant at the Karel Doormanstraat: Osteria Vera. At Osteria Vera you can go for Italian dishes. No pizza, but real traditional recipes with a lot of vegetables. I’m certainly curious about this new place

Wes is the new place to be in Rotterdam Noord! On the corner of Zaagmolenstraat you can immerse yourself in a cinematic interior where you can enjoy dishes with influences from Jewish Persian cuisine at any time of the day. “We draw our inspiration from many different cuisines with a rich culinary history. What we do isn’t authentic, but original,” according to chef Martijn Prins.
At Wes Eettentje you can get a lot of delicious foods, such as savory or sweet pies, salads, bagels, delicious casseroles and much more. It’s the ideal hangout with a living room feeling. Sounds good, right?
