Looking for Korean restaurants in Rotterdam? Korean cuisine is healthy, varied, a little spicy and contains a lot of vegetables. If you say typical Korean, it mainly refers to the many side dishes that accompany a base such as rice, soup or kimchi. Kimchi in particular makes me very excited (that’s also one of my nicknames, haha), because I really like it!
In addition to these items, you will come across a lot of fish, seaweed, tofu, garlic and ginger. But at the restaurants in Rotterdam there is more on the menu. It seems as if the focus is shifting a bit to soul food, in other words: taste that attract customers. Dishes can therefore be quite heavy (lots of meat) and deep-frying is also something that occurs. Just think of Korean fried chicken.
I mainly eat plant-based, my diet never includes meat. That excludes a number of Korean-Rotterdam restaurants, but that doesn’t make them any less worthy for a delicious dinner. If you eat everything then you can go anywhere and otherwise there are options in this list that are still very suitable.

1. SOJU Bar Rotterdam
If this isn’t the hippest restaurant on this list, I don’t know what is. I regularly hear that people get all dressed up to go on a date at the SOJU Bar.
This restaurant is known for not only the soju, but for the Korean fried chicken they serve. In addition to fried chicken, you can also eat dishes such as bibimbap, kimbab and mandu.

2. Seoul Sista Korean BBQ
This gem of a Korean restaurant is located within walking distance of Rotterdam Central Station and is characterized from the outside by the beautiful mural of a woman in Asian clothing as high as the building itself. Once inside, you will notice that all tables have a BBQ plate on which you and your group can prepare certain food products such as meat, fish and vegetables during dinner.
You can also order tasty cocktails at Seoul Sista and there are karaoke rooms for a joint singing session after dinner.

3. BapBoss
From Tuesday to Saturday you can enjoy traditional and fresh Korean dishes served in the cosy restaurant BapBoss in the centre of Rotterdam between 17:00 and 22:00.

Gamasot is a small toko where you can get the best tasty Korean take away dishes. You can also sit there, but this is not a fancy place, this is an eatery.
The glass corner building in the city centre shines because of the bright lights, but the real stars are the dishes. Here you can get bulgogi, dosirak, bibimbap, bokkum kuksu and tuk bok gi, among other things.

This is a special location, because HOY Kitchen is an Asian Food Court. The cosy ambiance of the venue adds to the experience of eating the various Asian street food dishes on offer.

6. Gangnam Korean BBQ
Gangnam is open every day of the week for delicious Korean BBQ. This location calls itself a fusion restaurant with a slightly different menu than other Korean BBQ restaurants in Rotterdam.

7. Korean Food by Allegaartje
This has to be the cutest restaurant in the Zwaanshals area, a hip neighbourhood in Rotterdam Noord. The interior has a living room-like feel and you immediately feel at ease upon entering.
At Allegatje you can barbecue Korean, but they have a specific concept that emerges: the lettuce wrap. This is a dish consisting of grilled marinated rib eye steak (which you prepare yourself at the table), in a large leaf of lettuce with rice and all kinds of small Korean dishes. You roll this up into a wrap, it’s that simple!

Every day of the week between 4:00 PM and 9:30 PM you can order or pick up your Korean fried chicken at Crispy Korean.
This take away restaurant in Rotterdam Centre focuses on fried chicken, the Korean way. This means that the chicken is fried in an Asian way, which removes the fat from the skin and makes it extremely light and crispy.
