Check out our latest New in Town article!
A new hotspots is coming on Benthuizerstraat 35 in Rotterdam Noord: RoseRouge. Before it was ‘Tapasbar Gewoon’, but the trio Florence Damen, Céline Maessen and Akko Dallinga have a completely new plan for this location: a new bar. Last week we paid them a little visit! Even though the place wasn’t finished yet, it was already obvious it’ll be a very photogenic and Instagram worthy hotspot with pink & flowered walls and a black-and-white floor. The photos speak for themselves, right?
At RoseRouge you’ll be able to get drinks and snacks. Florence: “The concept of RoseRouge is a hotel bar. So it’s a bit more chic than a regular bar, with a more distinctive interior. Much attention will be paid to how everything looks, also for the drinks.” We are already excited for the opening! Most likely this will be the 7th of October.

Before Christmas a second Jamie Oliver is coming to Rotterdam! They already started the construction at Weena, the new location, and in december a soft opening will follow. It’ll be the first Jamie Oliver’s Diner outside of the UK.
Jamie Oliver’s Diner is inspired by Jamie’s love for the classic American comfort food, such as nachos and chicken wings, and he gives his own twist to those dishes. According to the Dutch owners Willem Tieleman and Souad el Hamdaoui it’ll be affordable with great service. That sounds good to us!

Hudson’s Bay, Saks OFF 5th and Topshop
The V&D went bankrupt and made place for a new department store: the Canadian Hudson’s Bay. On September 7th Hudson’s Bay finally opened it’s doors to the public. We immediately went to have a look and liked what we saw. With five floors full with fashion, home accessoires and more it’s a great place for the diehard shoppers. Be sure to have a look at the children’s section and have a hug with the huge teddybear.

Amehoela used the tiki-bars from America in the 30s as inspiration for their own new bar! It’s a place where people can pretend to be in a beach club or tropical island, but in a modern way. Amehoela is a name that shows where the Rotterdammer stands for: no nonsense. So, fancy something tropical including street food? We definitely recommend having a look at Amehoela.

A new coffee bar with a Indonesian twist! Cinta means “love” in Indonesian, so it’s obvious that they’re crazy about coffee at this new coffee place on the Coolsingel 83. But, they also serve tea, limonade, sweets and delicious sandwiches. Enough to try out!
