The Kralingse bos (and plas) is the place where the Rotterdammer goes on a sunny day. When the sun shines it is full of people barbecuing, children playing and friends enjoying a drink.
It’s a fantastic place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. When the sun shines it is packed with people and good vibes, but it is also a nice place to take a walk on less sunny days.
The Kralingse Bos is also a good location for the sports enthusiasts among us. In addition to being a wonderful place for a run, cycling or skating, you can see the boats of the Rotterdam sailing club passing by here. Our tip is to rent a sloop and float around on the lake. A quick Google search and you will find several places where you can rent a boat!
Hidden gem
And have you ever heard of this hidden gem? The beautiful Heemtuin is hidden in the middle of the Kralingse Bos. Here you will find all kinds of plants, trees and shrubs. Walk across the narrow jetty through all the greenery and eventually you will arrive at the Kralingse Plas and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Rotterdam skyline.
