In the middle of the bustling Witte de Withstraat you will find the first English gastropub in Rotterdam. At the hotspot Dutch Dukes you get to know the casual British pub atmosphere.
You will be welcomed by the smell of typical English dishes, such as fish & chips and steak & guiness pie, but you can also opt for appetizers such as avocado fries and beetroot balls.
CASUAL PUB ATMOSPHERE
With countless restaurants, tokos and cafes you can see, taste and smell the cultural diversity of Rotterdam. So there is no shortage of choice. But an English pub was not yet known in the city. For that reason, Rotterdam restaurant owner Frank Roolaart (owner of HAL4 aan de Maas) opened the city’s first English gastropub. So a real first!
“In the past, English pubs were known as dark, smoky cafes where people hung out at the bar. These old-fashioned pubs have now been elevated to quality gastropubs where friends, colleagues and acquaintances come together. Rotterdam deserves a similar place where people discuss their working day, enjoy fresh dishes and toast to life,” says Frank Roolaart.
At Dutch Dukes you experience the authentic casual British pub atmosphere in combination with a raw Rotterdam edge.
