We know very few people who don’t like sushi and it’s not a surprise that this Japanese specialty has grown enormously in popularity in recent years. Meanwhile our city is – luckily – full of sushi restaurants! Below we share a list with our top picks sushi restaurants in Rotterdam. To make sure that you have tasted the best sushi in Rotterdam, our tip is to just go everywhere once;). Enjoy!
10 Great sushi restaurants in Rotterdam
1. Mood by Eveline Wu
In addition to their ability of making the sushi taste delicious, Mood serves their sushi on an actual sushi boat! How cool is that? Enjoying a delicious mix of sushi, sashimi and tempura, the chefs prepare all the freshly made dishes in an open kitchen. The interior of Mood is very elegant and trendy and definitely completes the experience. Also, don’t forget to end the evening with one of their delicious cocktails or gin and tonics!

2. Aqua Asia Club
Dinner with a view! Aqua Asia Club is on the second floor of the De Rotterdam building and therefore has a fantastic view over the river. How about a Red Dragon Roll, made with crispy shrimp and butter-tender Wagyu Rib-Eye, while you look at an illuminated Erasmus bridge? As a vegetarian you can eat your heart out here as well, as Aqua Asia Club has a wide selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu. All in all, a super trendy place with delicious sushi.
Address: Holland Amerikakade 106, 3072 MC Rotterdam
3. Ono Japanese Dining
Just like Aqua Asia Club, Ono Japenese Dining is located in one of the nicest areas of Rotterdam: De Kop van Zuid. Different from Aqua Asia Club however, Ono Japenese Dining faces the other side of the city, namely towards the Rijnhaven. The interior is super sleek and modern and the dishes are true pieces of art. Make sure to also read our in depth review of Ono Japenese Dining on our website!

Taste, quality and presentation are what counts at Azura. You can order a 3-course, 4-course or 5-course dinner here or simply choose the tasty individual dishes. The menu gives a wide choice and with dishes such as Crunchy Spicy Tuna Maki and Rainbow Maki we are definitely already starting to drool. You will find Azura, just like Ono Japanese Dining, Mood and Aqua Asia Club, at De Kop van Zuid and at the bottom of the Montevideo building.

5. The Oyster Club
This seafood restaurant consists of a dining area, a bar and a club. They describe their style as chic and stylish, with white table linen, waiters in black and white and – contrasting – cool murals. In addition to other fish dishes, they have a wide selection of sushi. The sushi chefs start early in the day to prepare the daily fresh sushi and sashimi. It’s not the cheapest option on the list, but if that’s not a problem and you like the exclusive atmosphere of The Oyster Club, then it’s definitely worth a visit.
Address: Rodezand 36, 3011 AN Rotterdam
You have to search a bit to find this restaurant, but it is found on the Coolsingel, near the Beurs metro station. The online reviews on iYumi are extremely positive. Some even say that this is the best sushi in Rotterdam, with friendly service and a good price-quality ratio! The decor, atmosphere and the view may be a bit less appealing, but maybe the delicious sushi will make you forget that!

7. Shiki Sushi & Lounge
They certainly have guts at the all-you-can-eat restaurant Shiki Sushi & Lounge. Located in an unlikely location, they have known how to positively surprise guests for a number of years. Their goal is to let people enjoy their sushi in style and they indicate that they do not want to have a negative AYCE image that people may have nowadays, but instead want to offer a top experience through their own identity and style.
Address: Prins Alexanderlaan 37a, 3068 PN Rotterdam
Sumo has become a household name when it comes to all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. This chain has established itself in many places in the Netherlands and is always packed. For a relatively low price you can eat as much as you want, enjoying a wide choice of maki, sashimi and nigiri. The locations on the Mauritsweg and in the Markthal have the AYCE concept. Do you prefer to order à la carte? Then Sumo Oriental in Kralingen might also be an option.
Sumo Markthal, Verlengde Nieuwstraat 2-5, 3011 GX Rotterdam
Sumo Mauritsweg, Mauritsweg 6, 3012 LA Rotterdam
Sumo Oriental, Kortekade 1-3, 3062 GK Rotterdam
9. Miso Sushi
You can find Miso Sushi in Central Plaza, the shopping center opposite to Central Station. With their dishes and all-you-can-eat concept, it is very similar to restaurants like Sumo and Shabu Shabu. However, it is often a lot quieter here and the sushi is certainly not inferior. You can enjoy lunch from €19.50 and dinner from €27.50. Definitely worth a try if you want something different than Sumo or Shabu Shabu for a change, but still love the concept!
Address: 2, Plaza, 3012 CW Rotterdam
Named after the Japanese lucky number as well as the number of restaurants the owner owned at the opening, Three is a classy restaurant that focuses on three different styles: Asian dishes, Robatayaki and – of course – sushi. The dishes are modern and the decor fits in well with the concept. Different then some of our previous restaurants, you won’t find Three at De Kop van Zuid, but in Hillegersberg on the North of Rotterdam.
Address: Freericksplaats 24, 3054 GN Rotterdam
