In October 2021, Cinema in Concert will bring National Geographic Live: Symphony for Our World to the Benelux for the first time. During six shows, the most beautiful images of nature from the National Geographic archive are combined with a specially composed symphony, performed live by the Noordpool Orkest conducted by Reinout Douma.
The performance can be seen in Rotterdam in De Doelen on 24 October.
unique experience that combines science and art
The one-and-a-half-hour film and music spectacle National Geographic Live: Symphony for Our World fuses groundbreaking images and stories from National Geographic’s 130-year history into an epic, perfectly synchronized with live music performed by the Noordpool Orkesta. The combination of music and image penetratingly tells the story of the complex but vulnerable nature of our planet.
From intimate portraits of wildlife to sweeping overviews of the breathtaking nature of which we as humans are also a part. Symphony for Our World takes visitors from the depths of the sea to the coast and through land and mountains into the skies, impressively showcasing the fascinating and wondrous ecosystems that enable us to survive and thrive alongside nature to thrive.
National Geographic Live: Symphony for Our World is a unique experience, combining science and art. Each image is accentuated by a catchy orchestral accompaniment, a combination that results in a powerful musical tribute to the beauty and wonders of our wild world.
Bleeding Fingers Music
The symphony and musical theme of “Symphony for Our World” were composed by composers Austin Fray and Andrew Christie of Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated Bleeding Fingers Music (co-founded with world-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer). In the Netherlands and Belgium this symphony is performed by the Noordpool Orkest, which has made a name for itself with many live accompaniments of (film) soundtracks and under the baton of Reinout Douma ensures an unforgettable evening.
It is a powerful and timely tribute to the beauty and wonders of our world. In short, a world show you will never forget.
