At Le Marin you stay in rooms that come straight out of a home magazine. Think: black marble, shades of gray on the wall, luxurious textiles and an overall luxurious look. This is a nice contrast to the building itself, because the historic Henegouwerplein in Rotterdam West is the setting of this beautiful design city hotel.
I live in the area and often pass by this hotel, it looks chic but the atmosphere is homey and approachable.

2. Room Mate Bruno Hotel
On the south side of the water you will find the cool hotel Room Mate Bruno. Here you sleep in colour-themed rooms that give futuristic design a new meaning.

Supernova Hotel is in my opinion one of the most beautiful hotels in Rotterdam. It is still a young hotel, but is certainly not inferior to the larger (or rather: older) players.
Here, too, you will find rooms that ooze design. Dark colours, intimate vibes, love it.

4. Hotel Unplugged
It doesn’t get more central than Hotel Unplugged. In the heart of the city, namely at Kabouter Buttplug, you will find this hip, modern, Scandinavian-feeling hotel.
The rooms have a relaxing atmosphere and are comfortably equipped. Sober colours with an eccentric edge here and there. What particularly appeals to me is that you can ‘unplug’ completely at such a busy location, because the hotel is set up for this. The concept has been well thought out and it shows.

5. Hotel âme
Just as central as Hotel Unplugged is Hotel âme, literally a 1-minute walk away. You only have to cross the street next to skate park Westblaak. Nice for skaters (just like me), because if you go on a skate trip you sleep here next to a nice skate spot.
Hotel âme is a young location, with a beautiful interior. Sober, earthy, inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian styles, but above all impressive. In the shop you can buy nice design items and enjoy a cup of coffee with a fresh croissant or other goodies in the café.

6. Le Petit Marin Boutique Hotel Rotterdam
Around the corner from Le Marin you will find the second hotel Le Petit Marin Boutique Hotel, also in Rotterdam West. This hotel is smaller than its big sister down the street and therefore only has luxury suites.
Here you will feel at home, but at a high level. Gold, black, grey, beautiful lighting and beds like clouds, that’s what awaits you.

7. The Slaak, a Tribute Hotel Rotterdam
The Slaak at the beginning of Kralingen is part of the Marriott chain. That is a star chain, so that says enough.
But to make you even more excited, I can tell you this: I spent a weekend there and it felt like I was someone important, famous. Everything was luxurious and decadent, from the materials and furniture to the service. Dinner in bed was definitely the highlight of the stay.

Applause for hotel the bellhop, because this hotel is all about sustainability. It’s all about reducing the impact we as humans have on the planet and nature. That’s a very nice thing if you ask me.
The interior of the hotel fits this mindset, because there is a lot of wood in the rooms. It feels fresh and responsible, very Scandinavian, hip and positive.

If you pass over the Willemsbrug Noordereiland, you will come to a waterfront with old buildings. Here you will find a luxury hotel with a view of De Maas, namely Suite Hotel Pincoffs.

View of De Maas, isn’t that wonderful? I love water myself and in a busy city like Rotterdam, the rippling water that runs right through the city always gives me a zen feeling.

Mr.Lewis Hotel can be found in my neighbourhood, around the corner from me. A young and stylish boutique hotel on the Heemraadssingel.
This is a very beautiful part of Rotterdam West, very green and absolutely magical with a sun on the water. The hotel has a self-service system, sober and quiet rooms and the building has beautiful old details such as stained glass.

15. ART Hotel Rotterdam
ART Hotel Rotterdam has rooms that take you straight into the 80s/90s. This is quite a fun experience. The rugs and colour combinations of the furniture feel like a mistake, but somehow it works. The building itself also has a very special shape, it is a very high tower with a kind of kink in it.
