What is your favorite spot in Rotterdam?
Grotekerkplein. It is a square in front of the Laurens church right in the middle of the city centre.

Why is this your favorite spot?
It is such a special place in the middle of the city. So peaceful and nicely built and planted. It gives me such a good feeling when I can sit there and enjoy the sun. There is also a nice terrace where you can have a drink. Or you can just lay down in the grass. A place where you can find calmness in the middle of all the craziness.

How did you find out about this place?
Because of my work as a director in this district, I know many places around town. This is one of the places where I come quite often to check if everything is in a good condition since this square is regularly used for events.

How often do you visit this spot?
A minimum of twice a week!

What do you think is is so special about Rotterdam?
It is a city that is in great development, especially the centre. For tourist or people who would like to live in the centre, it has been made a much more attractive destination.

There has been a great growth in diversity when it comes to shops and restaurants. For example, many great designers now have a shop here and there also a lot of (affordable) restaurants were opened here in the last couple of years.

Also, it has become such a lively city thanks to all the events that are organized here. Especially in the Summer. Because of this, many tourists and people from all over the country come here to enjoy all sorts of festivities.

Address: Grotekerkplein 1, 3011 GC Rotterdam.
Route: Exit at stop Blaak (metro, tram of train)
