Is it someone’s birthday? Passed his/hers exams? Or just deserves to be surprised? Or are you looking for a gift for a holiday where a little bit more effort has been put in than a pair of socks with a cheerful print? Then an artistic gift is the perfect solution.

There are more than enough nice presents for sale in Rotterdam, which are guaranteed to provide pleasure for a longer period of time. So what are you waiting for: spend those euros!

A museum annual card is not only fun for the fanatic visitor of the Kunsthal, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Boijmans Van Beuningen, TENT or Wereldmuseum, because with this gift you get access to 400 museums throughout the Netherlands for a year.

The card costs €64.90 for adults and €32.45 for children up to the age of 12 and young people up to 18 years. You buy a museum card here.

Drawing and/or painting class

Do you know someone who secretly wants to develop his/her/them drawing and/or painting talent? Then a creative course at SKVR is a very suitable gift. More than a handful of fine arts courses are organized and are accessible between the ages of 16 or 18 and 99. Art is for everyone!

When you purchase a drawing and/or painting class for your aspiring artist, it is also nice to already score a high-quality set of pencils and brushes for that person, so that he/she has a good start right away.

All courses can be found on the SKVR website.

No, gift cards are not stupid gifts. There are many people who love to shop, or simply find new things for themselves that actually benefit them. So do your creative birthday a favour and purchase a gift voucher for the largest art supplies store in Rotterdam.

Gerstaecker can be found at the Burgemeester van Walsumweg 730, just past the Kubuswoningen.

Rotterdam card

Bij KINO kijk je naar arthouse films, blockbusters en de klassiekers. Daarnaast hebben ze een gezellig restaurant waar je lekker kunt eten. Ideaal voor een avondje uit.

Go to the movies at Kino for free with the Rotterdam card!

Who doesn’t know it, the Rotterdam card? Many Rotterdammers had one as a child. But this yellow card is not only fun when you are young(er).

You get a discount on outings and food, some things are even completely free, but it doesn’t stop there. With the Rotterdam card you can participate in countless artistic activities, such as a photo shoot, visiting museums and botanical gardens, creative workshops and more.

A Rotterdam card is valid for one year (from 1 March to the end of February) and costs €60.

Workshop cake decorating

Marja Brand started her company Arta la Tarta in 2004 from a passion for decorating cakes. Her love even goes so far that she likes to share it with, among others, Rotterdammers with a sweet tooth and creativity in the fingers.

Marja provides several types of decoration workshops, including a Workshop Mini Cakes and a Workshop Large Cakes. It is possible to participate from 1 to 60 people. Would you rather not give this sweet gift to just one person? Then it is possible to start decorating with a group.

Vases and flower pots at ‘Alles in Wonderland’

‘Alles in Wonderland’ (meaning: Everything in Wonderland) is a kitschy and over the top cheerful store in Blijdorp. The interior items they sell are always slightly different than you are used to from less pronounced stores. Especially the vases and flower pots put a smile on your face.

Are you looking for an artistic gift for someone who has a rather outspoken style? For someone who would rather have a flower pot in the design of a Frida Kahlo head on the mantelpiece than display a boring black copy of Ikea? Then you are at the right shopping address at ‘Alles in Wonderland’.

Marvel at the hugely extensive range of ‘Alles in Wonderland‘ in Rotterdam and start shopping.

Do you already know where you are going to buy your artistic present(s) this year?
