1. Old Scuola

Old Scuola can be found in two places in the city: in the Industriegebouw in the center and on Abraham Tuschinskistraat in West. If you’re a true pizza lover, you’ve come to the right place! Their wood-fired oven sandwiches are also highly recommended!

2. De Pizzabakkers

With a name like De Pizzabakkers you naturally expect tasty pizzas! Fortunately, they certainly make this happen.

The complex preparation process of the dough ensures that the thin base is nice and crispy. After the pizzas are topped with only fresh ingredients, they are baked in Italian wood-fired ovens.

In addition to the pizzas, De Pizzabakkers is known for their proseccos; They serve various cocktails with prosecco here.

They also serve delicious fresh pizzas at O’Pazzo! You can have a snack on both Mariniersweg and Schouwburgplein. In their traditional wood-fired oven they prepare pizzas with fresh, sustainable Italian ingredients according to the original Neapolitan recipe.

In addition to pizza, O’Pazzo also offers other Italian dishes, such as pasta, salad, risotto, an Italian hamburger and various fish and meat dishes. So there is something for everyone!

At Gusto they try to work with as many organic products as possible and prepare their pizzas with fresh ingredients. The menu changes regularly at Gusto, this is because they cook with the season.

You will also find several vegetarian options on the menu, and they have gluten-free bread and pasta.

6. Osteria Pizzeria Andiamo

Since 2018 you can go to Pizzeria Andiamo in Delfshaven. The owners and staff are from Italy and you can taste it! The quality dishes are made with the best, fresh ingredients.

The menu features almost 20 different pizzas, including classics such as Margherita and Marinara. There is undoubtedly something for you!

Do you love authentic Italian food? Then Due Tonino is the restaurant for you. As soon as you enter here you will feel like you are in Italy and you will immediately receive a warm welcome from the staff.

Osteria Liz is a cozy restaurant in Rotterdam’s Liskwartier. Here you can enjoy real Italian espresso, pizza, pasta, risotto and authentic Italian dishes. The simple, pure dishes are fun to share, so you can taste more of the menu!

Burro e Salvia, which is Italian for butter and sage, is an artisanal pasta maker on the Cape. The combination of butter and sage is a simple, but certainly surprising way to season pasta.

At Burro e Salvia you can expect delicious pastas, but they also serve different types of pizzas! Such as the Calzone with tomato sauce, eggplant, spinach, carrot and zucchini, or the Deliplein with mozzarella, arugula, parmesan cheese, walnuts, mushrooms and balsamic vinegar.

Fun parties and good food: we love BIRD. Did you know that they also serve delicious wood-fired pizzas here? From the classic Margherita to the special ‘Lemon Shells’ pizza with scallops, the menu includes more than ten different pizzas!

TIP: On Wednesday it is ‘Pizza Wednesday’ where you get a pizza and beer (or soft drink) for only €15.

15. Vegan Pizza Bar

It all started as a takeaway concept, but now it is actually a restaurant where you can eat. And as the name suggests, we have all kinds of dishes made from plant-based ingredients! The cheese is made according to our own recipe, and of course completely vegan.

Yet you can do more than just pizza here. They also have exciting starters, pastas, lasagna and risotto.

A few of my personal favorites are the Pizza Karma Shawarma, the Pizza Bella Bianca and the Pizza Margherita.

Speck, a cozy restaurant in the Oude Noorden, takes you to Italy with delicious dishes and fresh pizzas! The ever-expanding menu is full of authentic flavors worth exploring.

There is a real wood-burning oven in the middle of the cozy shop, where the pizzas are prepared with homemade sauce and fresh ingredients.

In a short time, three Pizza Beppe branches have already opened in the center. The pizzas are prepared authentically according to a Neapolitan recipe. Beppe is the first restaurant in the Netherlands with a quality mark from the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.

18. Sugo

You can find Sugo on various locations in the Netherlands: in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht and of course in Rotterdam!

At Sugo they serve pizza al taglio, which is a pizza variant that is baked on large rectangular plates and cut into long pieces. Pizza al taglio means ‘pizza that has been cut’. It’s not an easy product to make, because the bottom of the pizza has to be perfect. That is why the pizza bakers at Sugo give a lot of attention and have a big passion for their profession.
