A hotel stay in your own city, only a stone’s throw from your home, may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about vacation. But nowadays, it sounds like music to the ears.

A romantic getaway wrapped in Asian atmospheres, an extensive 3-course dinner in an old printing house or a lazy Sunday afternoon with Netflix & chill and burgers … It’s all possible at these unique staycation hotels in Rotterdam.

1. TIWYA x Hilton Rotterdam

TIWYA opened its restaurant in August with Indonesian family dishes, a bar with colourful cocktails and a club for hot summer evenings. But in these times, those kind of evenings seem just as endlessly distant.

That is why TIWYA and Hilton Rotterdam came up with the following solution: they transformed the 7th floor of Hilton into a seventh heaven, completely in TIWYA atmospheres with lush plants, exotic scents and enchanting background music.

For an authentic Asian evening with an extensive dinner for two in one of the 34 luxurious rooms, you’ve come to the right place. The package consists of the flavours of TIWYA menu (14 dishes with vegetarian options) and an overnight stay including a PA that fulfills all your wishes.

Do you have something to celebrate? Then opt for luxurious upgrades such as a wine or champagne arrangement or suitable decorations for a special occasion. This way, you can safely enjoy your time in your own little oasis.

Book this unique TIWYA x Hilton experience with dinner (excluding drinks) and overnight stay on Thursday to Sunday for € 179 per duo. Dinner is served as desired between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

2. ‘Stay and dine’ at The Slaak & Didot34

The design boutique hotel The Slaak, located in the monumental Slaakhuys in Kralingen, is a great addition to Rotterdam. The hotel has 74 rooms, restaurant & bar Didot34, two meeting rooms and fitness Studio34.

In the 1950s, the building functioned as the printing office of “Het Vrije Volk” and that has clearly been implemented throughout the hotel. For example, the restaurant – Didot34 – is named after the font of the former newspaper.

The speakers emanate wonderful jazzy 50’s sounds and the materials of marble and wood in combination with the pastel colors give a warm and luxurious welcome – trust me you won’t want to leave here. This homely feeling is continued in the rooms and you completely forget in which city (and time) you are. The style has a hipster edge, by the way: expect brass floor lamps and original graffiti on the ceilings in the Loft rooms.

Oh, and when it comes to their kitchen: there is something for everyone (also for the vegetarian among us)!

The Slaak now offers a 3-course dinner including overnight stay for € 129 per duo. For an extra € 10 per person you can enjoy the extensive breakfast buffet. Check the Slaak website for more information.

3. The Diego’s Hotel by the James Rotterdam

In need of a lazy Sunday afternoon with burgers, Netflix and chill? Search no further! The famous burgers of Diego’s are certainly worth a try and with this concept, Diego’s Burgers will launch their arrangement at The James Rotterdam on Thursday 5 November.

You won’t find a more luxurious burger experience than this one. Upon entering you are welcomed with a glass of bubbles, after which a well-stocked minibar of Coca-Cola and Bacardi challenges you to pull off your cocktail skills.

The necessary entertainment has also been thought out: for example, in the hotel room you get access to a Netflix account with Diego’s favourite food films and documentaries while you enjoy the exclusive Diego’s & The James Golden Burger. And that’s not all; in the morning there is also a delicious breakfast box from Jordy’s Bakery ready for you to eat.

Book a hotel stay here in The James & Diego’s Superior Room for € 120 per duo and the Suite for € 150 per duo.

4. Supernova Hotel

Supernova is now a true concept in Rotterdam with a completely contemporary concept that merges staying the night, sipping drinks and shopping in one whole.

The hotel offers 38 rooms, a night shop inspired by the exotic toko’s and an intimate listening bar called Supper, where snacks and drinks are accompanied by the creaking sound of vinyl.

Since the latter is not possible at the moment, Supernova brings the best of Rotterdam to your hotel room every weekend with the “Room Service” event. A fully catered 3-course dinner by De Matroos en het Meisje, cocktails from the Supper with tunes by Operator Radio and a film selected by Roffa Mon Amour.
